From its inception, Darwish Holding has placed a major emphasis on contributing to the society and engaging with the local community: an ethos that was instilled by the founder.
Every division of Darwish Holding invests time, effort and resources to make meaningful contributions across sports, academic, healthcare and social initiatives. Some of the sporting events supported by the group include the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters and the Emir Cup while academic initiatives include the partnership agreement with Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar, the Abdullah Al-Darwish Scholarships for Weill Cornell Medical College and the Abdullah Al-Darwish Award for Young Researches in Islamic Studies. In addition, Darwish Holding signed a collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Sports, FNAC International and the Yamaha Music Foundation, providing essential funding, expertise and support for emerging creative talents in Qatar. The group also donates to local and international health centres, working particularly with children. Additionally, it supports community-oriented programmes such as Lagoona Mall’s support of Autism in collaboration with IFC and Shaffalah, the Sony brand’s work with the Qatar Foundation for Elderly People Care, amongst others.
Darwish Holding consistently strives to support activities that have a positive impact on the environment, society and nation.
